Students that rent books will be asked to sign an agreement as exampled below.
Rental Program Terms of Agreement
  1. I understand and accept the responsibility that at the end of the current Semester, it is my responsibility to return the books rented under this program or pay the replacement price (as stated below) of the book in my possession. The replacement price will be charged to my student account.
  2. I understand that the books rented by me are the property of the Belmont University Campus Store and in accepting the terms of this book rental program, I accept the responsibility to use the book and return it to the Belmont University Campus Store in resalable condition. No visible answers are allowed and highlighting must be kept to less than 15% of the text. Water, fire, excessive tears and missing pages constitute a damaged book. Any tampering with or destroying the serial number on the book will result in a $5.00 charge to my student account.
  3. I understand and authorize Belmont University to place my student records on hold if the book is not returned by 4:00 p.m. the last day of finals of the semester that the rental occurs. In addition, if my book is not returned by the deadline, I will not be eligible for this program in future semesters.
  4. I understand that the rental fee is refundable only according to the Belmont University Campus Store standard rental return policy as explained on the back of my receipt.
  5. I have read and fully understand the provisions and the terms of this agreement as outlined and I agree to adhere to all conditions and terms as stated.

Rentals are not available for every title. When they are available, you will find them listed with the New and Used book prices under each title or course you are looking at.

Textbook Rental Return Policy
  1. An original register receipt must be presented (no copies or online order printouts will be accepted).
  2. Books must be in resalable condition .
  3. Rental books can be returned within the following time frame:
    a) All full semester courses, 8 week courses and 10 week courses have 5 business days from the first day the University officially begins classes. Check the Academic calendar online for this date.
    b) All 4 to 5 week courses will have 3 business days from the first day the class begins.
    Exception: Summer textbook rental return dates vary and will be posted in store.

  4. Students who have withdrawn from a class and wish to return rental books must present an original register receipt and proof of withdrawal. Amounts will be refunded in accordance with the university’s tuition withdrawal policy.
  5. Store management reserves the right to make the decision on the condition or saleability of the merchandise.
